Electric Show

For their main touring act, The Looters perform as an electric quartet featuring acoustic, electric, and slide guitars, six-string bass, theramin, and percussion. The show incorporates blues, alternative and classic rock, fusion, psychedelic, 80s hits, funk, jam, classic country, and newgrass. For particular venues, the band can perform over 5 hours of cover material, 100% original songs, or a mix of both. The emphasis is on music that people love to dance to and awe inspiring stadium rockers, but the occasional slow number is included for intimacy and a chance for fans to cool down or hold their lighters in the air to show support! Audience participation is encouraged and nurtured, and above all us fun and spontaneity is a driving force in the performance!

Acoustic Trio

For small clubs, coffee shops, and pub The Looters perform as a three piece acoustic band incorporating blues, rock, Appalachian folk, jazz, Spanish guitar, and instrumental "new age" music. Joseph Layden plays guitar, slide guitar, and sings lead, Eric Layden plays acoustic bass and sings back-up vocals, and David Denison plays guitar, mandolin, and sings lead and back-up vocals as well. This is the perfect intimate setting for The Looters' eclectic mix of melodic "cover" music and also showcases the thoughtful lyrics of their original tunes.

All Star Revue Show

revue (n.) - a type of multi-act popular theatrical entertainment that combines music, dance and sketches

For special events and large concert halls, The Looters occasionally put on an All-Star Revue Show featuring an eclectic mix of music, audience participation, ballroom, swing, and choreographed jazz dancing, as well as short skits and even an ad-lib hypnotic stage show! This performance incorporates special guests vocalists, dancers, and instrumentalists and features all the varied forms of music in which The Looters excel. In this form The Looters have often acted as a backing band for international stars including Rosa King, Saskia Laroo, and Kristina Train, with Joseph Layden singing the first few songs before introducing the featured performer. This season's special guest star is the keyboard legend Dr. Dan Matrazzo, whose work with Steve Vai, Col. Bruce Hampton, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and the Allman Brothers has shaped the face of modern music. An archive of performances with some of these guest artists is provided below:
